Frequently Asked Questions
How do I estimate how much it will cost to run my new air conditioner?
Simply times the power input found on the energy rating sticker by your energy costs in kilowatts per hour (See your power provider for this information or your last electricity bill).
How often should I have my air conditioner serviced?
You air conditioner should be serviced at least once a year. Twice a year if it is in a commercial office or has high home usage. We recommend getting your air conditioner serviced more often if it is located in a commercial kitchen or industrial workshop as they are subject to high levels of air pollutants.
What are the benefits of ducted air conditioning?
If you have a split system, it’s only capable of cooling down a small unit or the area it’s in. Ducted is vented from one control point to all areas of the house. It can be divided into different temperature zones and is usually whisper quiet. In larger houses it is cheaper to install ducted air conditioning than to have a split system in every room.
What is reverse cycling?
Some air conditioners only provide cooling; reverse cycle air conditioners provide both.
What is a 5-star rating on an air conditioner mean?
The more stars, the more energy efficient your air conditioning is.
I have ducted air conditioning, but there’s no air coming out in the bedrooms?
Ducted systems can be divided into zones. Check the console panel to see if the zone switch is on. If you experience problems, feel free to call us. We may be able to talk you through the issue over the phone.
Why is my air conditioning leaking water?
If you don’t regularly clean your filters, dirt, dust and mould can build up inside the air conditioner, which can block the drain causing water to leak indoors. Turn off the unit and call us. If it’s been a while since you’ve had it serviced, we will clean your filters and drains and ensure your air conditioner is working properly.
My air conditioner remote isn’t working, what should I do?
Have you checked the batteries? You would be surprised at the number of calls air conditioning technicians get to discover the batteries are flat. If replacement of the batteries doesn’t fix the problem, jot down the brand and model number of the remote and call us for a replacement.
My air conditioner has stopped working. Is it worth getting it fixed or shall we buy a new one?
We recommend getting a service technician to investigate your air conditioning problem before making a decision. It could be an easy fix. If you decide to opt for a new air conditioner, our team will be happy to recommend the best system for your home or office.
